In support of urban forests the Foo Fighters have allocated premium tickets to auction for each U.S./Canadian tour date through TicketMaster. Proceeds from the auctions will go through TreeBank to local "branches" to plant trees in each tour city.
TreeBank is an online system that distributes donations from individuals and sponsors to local TreeBank "branches." The program provides an easy way to build community funds for tree planting and care.
Most people want to improve the environment, but they don’t know where to begin. Local TreeBanks are the most convenient way for anyone, anywhere, to make a difference in urbanized areas—where more than 85 percent of the U.S. population lives. Dollar for dollar, there is no better investment in the local environment. Please join this effort. Support your local TreeBank.
Does your home town have a TreeBank? TreeBank is a program of TreeLink, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing the most complete, objective information about urban forests at www.treelink.org.
Democracy For America and Campus Progress have been on site at past Foo Fighters tour. Now that we are again in an election year you should take the time to learn about current issues and candidates. You can find more information about the organizations here:
Inspired by the presidential campaign of Howard Dean, Democracy for America (DFA) is a political action committee dedicated to supporting fiscally responsible, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government?from school board to the presidency. DFA fights against the influence of the far right-wing and their radical, divisive policies and the selfish special interests that for too long have dominated our politics.
DFA has a long-term goal that looks past November 2004. This organization will rebuild the Democratic Party from the bottom up?it will take time, but we must start building a base now for the future
Campus Progress, a project of the Center for American Progress, is a brand-new effort to strengthen progressive voices on college and university campuses nationwide; counter the growing influence of right-wing groups on campus; and empower new generations of progressive leaders. While the media perceives U.S. campuses as bastions of liberalism, the right wing has spent 30 years organizing to gain the upper hand. Conservative groups spend over $35 million every year pushing their agenda on campuses through speaking programs, funding for student publications, and leadership training, plus tens of millions more for academic programs.
It's time for progressive students to start winning the battle of ideas
Campus Progresshas recently launched launched Debt Hits Hard, a national campaign to make college more affordable.
As the cost of college skyrockets and financial aid shrinks, increasing numbers of students and families face greater and greater debt, limiting opportunity and mobility for millions of Americans. Visit DebtHitsHard.org to watch the videos, learn more, and take action now!

ONE BY ONE has become the first CD by a US-based band to be Carbon Neutral, with the help of CarbonNeutral - a company which empowers businesses and individuals alike to take positive action against global warming, by offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions they produce by everyday activities.
CarbonNeutral measured the amount of CO2 - the main ‘greenhouse gas’
that causes global warming – produced by the production and distribution
of the new album, and the band are offsetting this by sponsoring two forestry
projects - in California and in Tensas River, Louisiana.
You too can get involved in their campaign today, by planting trees in their
chosen forest. You will receive a personalised certificate and a map showing you
where your tree has been planted.

IRV allows voters to rank candidates as their first choice, second choice, third, fourth, and so on. If a candidate receives a majority of first choices, the election is over. If not the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and a runoff round of counting occurs. Ballots cast for that candidate are counted for voters' next choice, until someone has a clear majority.
